The Giving Network, founded in the heart of Savannah, Georgia, was brought to life with one goal in sight: create an online video platform for non-profits, specifically aimed at delivering relevant video content that educates and engages nonprofit staff, their donors and volunteers.
Jeff Walker has been producing corporate video in the greater Savannah area for over 30 years. Along with writing, shooting and editing literally hundreds of commercials, training videos and promotional pieces, he has worked for twenty years in the non-profit sector. Jeff served as the Media Director for a 1,000 member church for 5 years where he was in charge of marketing, the multicamera recording of all services and concerts, and the production of a weekly talk show. Through a partnership with Comcast, he ran Savannah’s community access channel for local non profits for 18 years. In this capacity, Jeff oversaw the programming and airing of the channel, as well as all sales and marketing.From 1998 to 2013, Jeff was the Director of Marketing for Bethesda Home for Boys. As part of Bethesda’s development team, he was responsible for the creation of all print, web, and video content for the organization. Here he also designed the campus’ production studio, where he taught Broadcast Production, a state-certified curriculum he wrote for Savannah Technical College. High school students who completed the curriculum received a Technical Certificate of Credit from Savannah Tech. Under Jeff’s direction the students produced dozens of PSAs and interview shows for area non-profits, as well as videos used to advance Bethesda’s marketing and development efforts.
Jeff has an MBA with an emphasis in in Marketing and is certified in The Principles and Techniques of Fundraising through the University of Indiana Center on Philanthropy.
